When configuring a SIP ATA device using O2 in the Czech republic, I noticed there was no real clear full information on all the specific options to set, which sometimes can be hard to figure out on what to do.
So Below here I will show you how I configured a Grandstream HT801 to be used for VoIP, and what settings I adjusted.
First of all, make sure that the correct codex is set, and in the correct order. The recommended order would be below, if you have it differently configured and it doesn't work, make sure to have G711 on top.
- G711.A (a-law), also noted as PCMA sometimes
- G722
- Others
The Following information is required. You need to have the Primary SIP server, which is voipmenu.cz but the Outbound proxy server, and secondary outbound server is different based on your phone number. Check on the website of O2 to make sure that you have the correct information.
For the SIP user ID, you need to use your phone-number, not the full user part of the SIP address. as the Authenticate ID you need to fill in the full username including "@voipmenu.cz".
As the name you will fill in the full phone number making sure the phone-number is correct.
The following DTMF tones looks to be working for me, and thus I would recommend using:
Payload: 101
Priority 1: RFC2833
Priority 2: SIP INFO
Priority 3: In-audio
This looks to be all the settings I needed to do so far. If you have anything you still want to check / verify let me know via the contact form, and I'll update this post!
Until next time
